Book Club

Welcome to the launch of Print and Pastries. If you are seeking a fun way for tweens/teens to connect with books and friends in a laid back environment that targets the following: vocabulary, comprehension, peer discussion, quotation analysis, and exploration of themes (with a touch of art/creativity!) you have found the right place.  The first book selection is provided below:

Book: Restart by Gordon Korman

Restart by Gordon Korman is about a boy named Chase Ambrose who loses his memory after falling off a roof. He wakes up in the hospital with no idea who he is, what kind of person he was, or why so many people seem to either fear or dislike him. As Chase returns to school, he learns that before his accident, he was a bully who tormented other kids. Now, he has a chance to change.

Chase starts making new friends, including kids he used to bully, and gets involved in activities he never cared about before, like the video club. However, not everyone is convinced that Chase has truly changed, and he struggles with figuring out if he can really leave his old self behind. The story explores themes of redemption, friendship, and the idea that it’s never too late to start over and become a better person.
